CACUBO WINTER Workshop

Opening Keynote by Brenda Bailey-Hughes:
New Perspectives: Mental Shifts that Change Your Life
Closing Keynote by national speaker Keith New:
Passion

Psychologists today generally agree that an individual's thought patterns are the single greatest predictor of success and happiness. Given the importance of your thoughts, is it time to break out of some old, limiting ruts? Is it time to unleash yourself from being a prisoner to your own limiting thoughts? What kind of changes in your life might a new perspective or an alternative thought create? Together, we will explore emerging thought patterns for success, life-changing questions to ask yourself, and new ways to understand ourselves, our failures, and our dreams and desires.

Brenda Bailey-Hughes, M.A. teaches Business Communication courses in the Undergraduate and MBA programs at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. Brenda is a licensed mentor for managers who may be assigned to work abroad or in multi-cultural teams.

Brenda is co-owner of a consulting company specializing in communication and service training. Brenda has a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Communication and Professional Development.

Passion is what sets apart excellence from mediocre. Skills can be taught, but passion is the fire that burns within you and motivates you to raise the bar and impact the lives of those around you. As educators, it is an incredible privilege and responsibility to speak into the lives of others. Combine this with the necessary administration provisions and there is undoubtedly a rare opportunity to positively affect people on a daily basis.

CACUBO 2010 will close with a highly motivating message about living each day with passion. It is time to reignite the passion for education. The closing keynote will address the following thoughts:

  • "Why are you doing what you are doing?" Is it passion or paycheck?
  • Make everyday count. You only get to experience today one time.
  • Raise the bar. Stretch yourself and those you influence.
  • Turn burning embers into a roaring fire.
