Opening for Business Partner Coordinator Position

The Central Association of College and University Business Officers (CACUBO) is seeking to contract with a positive and enthusiastic professional who is a self-starter and self-motivated to serve as the organization’s Business Partner Coordinator. This position will operate as an independent contractor reporting directly to CACUBO’s Board of Directors and will develop strong relationships with Business Partners (vendors) in higher education for the purpose of securing financial and in-kind support of CACUBO’s professional development events. The time commitment is seasonal and hours worked are at the discretion of the Coordinator (500-600 hours/year is estimated).

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to: understanding and representing the vision, mission, goals and core values of CACUBO; continuously develop and maintain contacts with Business Partners in higher education to build relationships with them as event sponsors and/or exhibitors; utilizing the CACUBO Business Partner Prospectus and working closely with the CACUBO Board and chairpersons of CACUBO’s major professional development events, recruit sponsors and/or exhibitors; recommending sponsorship packaging and managing the solicitation process; maintaining records for accurate billing and collection; attending professional events to build relationships; and recommending short- and long-term goals for the sustainability of CACUBO’s development effort.

The successful candidate will be a proven professional who believes in the mission of CACUBO, holds a bachelor’s degree, demonstrates proficiency using Microsoft Office, is results- and people-oriented, and possesses a strong work ethic and superb attention to detail. The candidate will also have proven communication skills with an ability to write and speak persuasively about the role of supporting professional development for higher education business officers. Preferred background includes experience in higher education and experience with fundraising, sales or an equivalent combination of related experience. A full position description can be found here. Compensation contains a base pay component with opportunity for incentive pay, and will be commensurate with prior experience.
